Portfolio Design / Development

What is a portfolio?

A portfolio is a curated collection of an artist’s or designer’s best work
representing their skills, creativity and their style of work. It is a visual
resume that demonstrates the individual’s abilities to potential colleagues,
clients or employers. It specifically includes a selection of completed
projects, sketches and any relevant process documentation, providing an
extensive overview of the student’s or designer’s expertise and artistic
vision.

Requirements

The portfolio’s concept should showcase the students’ interest in
storytelling and their ability to envision it. The student can choose an
existing story or can create their own also which they will implement as
their own idea. The requirements for this are as follows:-

  1. The portfolio should be of a minimum of 10-15 pieces in a digital
format in landscape and a pdf format. The student can choose any
of their best and most recent artwork.
  2. It should majorly portray subjects such as: – global, political issues
    and their self- expression.
  3. The portfolio should also feature student’s early sketches, and drawings
(perspectives and figure drawings and portraits). It should also
include their process, development and inspirational pictures with
the final artwork of their design. It’s crucial for the students to
showcase their creative thought process from the beginning till
they finish their artwork. Students have to follow this in the
following sequence:- pictures of inspiration, preliminary sketches,
silhouettes and then their final work.
  4. The students can submit any genre of work of their own choice,
but that should not be limited to digital design, video/ film,
photography, sculpture, drawing, painting and jewellery.
